Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about submitting and tracking post-results service requests through the Portal.

Once payment is confirmed, your request is received by the Examinations Office and will be submitted to the relevant awarding body shortly afterwards. You can track the progress of each request from the order details page - the timeline shows whether your request has been submitted to the exam board and whether an outcome has been received.

Once the awarding body returns an outcome, it will be reviewed and, once verified, made available for you to view and download from the Portal. You'll also receive an email and an in-app notification when this happens.

  • Awaiting payment - your order has been created but payment has not yet been completed.
  • Payment failed - your payment did not go through. You can retry payment from the order details page.
  • Paid - awaiting processing - payment has been received and your request will be submitted to the exam board shortly.
  • Processing - your request has been submitted to the awarding body and is being processed.
  • Partially completed - some, but not all, outcomes for this order have been received.
  • Completed - all outcomes for this order have been received.
  • Completed - partially refunded / Refunded - one or more items in this order resulted in a grade change and have been refunded in line with our refund policy.
  • Cancelled - this order was cancelled, usually because all items had already been paid for in another order. No payment was taken.

If a clerical re-check, review of marking, or appeal results in a grade change, the fee for that service may be refunded subject to the centre's approval process. The administration fee is non-refundable.

Refund requests are reviewed by the Examinations Office and Finance teams. If a refund is approved and processed, it will be returned to your original payment method, and you'll see the refunded amount on the order details page along with an email and in-app notification.

From an order's details page you can download your Receipt and Appendix A (a summary of your request, used by the centre and awarding bodies), and once an outcome document has been verified and released, you can view or download it for each request. You can also use the Download all button to get a single zip file containing all available documents for that order.

Each post-results service has a deadline set by the relevant awarding body, shown when you select a service. Once the deadline has passed, that service will no longer be available to request. It is your responsibility to submit requests in good time.

You can read about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in our Policies page.

If you disagree with a review outcome: Once the awarding body has issued the outcome of a review of marking, a further review cannot be requested. However, the appeals process is available. Appeals must be submitted in writing and must clearly state the grounds for appeal. Please contact the Examinations Office to start an appeal.

If Brampton Manor Academy will not submit your request: In line with JCQ requirements, the Academy has a formal appeals procedure in place for candidates who disagree with the centre's decision not to pursue a review of marking. You have the right to appeal that decision. Please contact the Examinations Office at [email protected] to request details of the formal appeals procedure.

Further information on the awarding bodies' appeals processes is available from the JCQ website at jcq.org.uk/exams-office/appeals.

If you need help with a request or have a question that isn't answered here, please contact the Examinations Office at [email protected].
